Association’s FIRST Chairman

Chairman Jim Tew had a long established career in the field of research, before being diagnosed with MND.

Jim Tew

Jim produced the Plain Man’s Guide to MND, an annual report on the developments at each Symposium.
By 1980, just one year after its formation Jim Tew was instrumental in getting the Association’s first research project established at Charing Cross Hospital under the direction of Patron and Consultant Neurologist Dr Clifford Rose.
Jim’s widow Barbara Tew continues to be actively involved in the Association and is the branch secretary for the Manchester and District Branch.
