Holly Norman

Holly shares her feelings about her dad who was diagnosed with MND in 2006.

My name is Holly and I was nine and a half years old when my dad (Barry) was diagnosed with MND in April 2006.

Fortunately me and my mum (Brenda) live together so we can care for dad. My older sister Louisa comes over to our house Monday -Friday to help care for dad when mum is at work and I am at school. Dad is now unable to use his hands and he has had a peg fitted as he is finding it difficult to eat and breathe.

In dad’s healthier days he was a self-employed then had what he said was "the job of my life as a dredger." Louisa and dad are working on a biography about life and MND. I believe MND Association does an excellent service of help and support.

My dad is a well loved and appreciated by everyone.

Thanks for reading my story From Holly.
