This was originally introduced as the Breathing Space Kit (BSK) by the MND Association in 1991 and was comprehensively revised and updated in June 2003. The new Just In Case Kit (JIC Kit) replaces the BSK and aims to address sudden change in the person with MND – in particular choking, breathlessness or related panic, which may occur during the course of the illness, and the fear of dying.
