Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups (SIG) have a primary focus of education in its broadest sense. They may be small locally-based groups or larger, more regionally focused. The purpose of SIG:
- support and act as a resource to Health and Social Care Professionals working with people affected by MND
- provide an educational format to promote good practise in clinical and management interventions and models of care
- encourage understanding about professional roles and relevant contributions to the management of people affected by MND
- facilitate a problem-solving approach to specific management issues
- promote enhanced communication and liaison and integrated care at a local level
- promote partnership working between health, social services and voluntary agencies to make the best use of resources and expertise
