Midlands Co-operative Supports the MND Association

In January 2010 we embarked on a two-year Charity of the Year partnership with Midlands Co-operative Society. One year on and they have already raised over the £200,000 target and with almost 400 people living with MND in their trading area, Midlands Co-operative Society colleagues are really making a difference.

“We always ensure that the money we raise supports people in our trading area and we are very excited that our new charity partner is based locally in Northampton.”

Frank Croft, President of Midlands Co-operative

More than 8,000 Midlands Co-operative colleagues in over 480 retail outlets have helped us raise this amazing amount of money, which is funding our equipment loan service within their trading area. With a year still to run on our partnership, many thanks have to go out to the colleagues and customers of the Midland Co-operative. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible.
The range of events being carried out by Midlands Co-operative Society is amazing. People have been jumping out of planes, holding coffee mornings raffles and tombolas and some of them have even walked over hot coals and all that in 12 months, here’s to 2011.

Louise Pell, Midlands Co-operative employee

"I have never been so inspired by a Charity. Knowing that all funds raised, however small, are providing such beneficial and life-enhancing equipment and support to those suffering with this terrible disease, is wonderful and refreshing.

I have found that this inspiration has cascaded into several fund-raising events, bringing about positivity with the workforce, boosting morale and even challenging us to try things we'd never thought about doing! The MNDA is an organisation with which I am proud and honoured to have association with and wish to contribute as much as possible."
