The MND Association has over 90 branches and groups across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, all run entirely by volunteers who provide an invaluable local service to people affected by MND. Within the branches and groups, volunteers work together in many different ways to provide support, raise awareness, influence, and fundraise on behalf of people living with MND.

"Being a volunteer is so varied and rewarding...and the wonderful thing is that I get back as much as I give."
Brenda Bowman, Derbyshire Branch treasurer
There are many volunteering opportunities within branches and groups. You could help with:
- organising or supporting fundraising or social events
- producing, contributing to, or distributing a newsletter
- developing or maintaining a website
- campaigning locally to raise awareness
- or you could become a member of a branch management committee which could include a role of chair, secretary or treasurer
Some volunteering roles will involve attending meetings which may be held in the evenings or at weekends. Other roles you may be able to do from home. Whatever your skills or availability, there is likely to be a role suitable for you.
Volunteering with your local branch or group is a fantastic way to help your local community and make a real difference to people living with MND. How you get involved depends on the skills, experience and time you have to offer and the volunteering role you choose to carry out, but you can be certain that it will have an impact on improving the lives of people affected by MND.
