A Guide to Influencing for Branches and Groups

MND Association Branches and Groups play a crucial role in the work of the Association.
A Guide to Influencing for Branches and Groups

As well as supporting people affected by MND, raising awareness and funds, more and more are developing their work influencing others outside the Association.

The key aim is to ensure that others in diverse areas – from parliamentarians to Health and Social Care Professionals – are kept up to date and informed about all aspects of MND and how it impacts on everyday life.

To help them develop this role, a new resource has been devised to offer support, ideas and encouragement. The Association's Guide to Influencing for Branches & Groups is divided into three levels:

Level One: Getting Started

There are a number of easy steps you can take to raise the profile of your Branch/Group locally. Many of these activities can be incorporated into things you already do, so keep on reading even if you’re short of resources! Level One looks at who you can write to to raise your profile.

Level Two: Building your Profile - the Next Steps

Level Two looks at how to build a relationship with the contacts you have made in Level One. It covers who you can meet face-to-face to raise the profile of your Branch/Group locally.

Level Three: Starting to Influence

This section looks at what you can do to use your enhanced profile to influence services locally, by using the contacts with Health and Social Care Professionals and MPs/AMs you have made in Levels One and Two and through getting involved in local networks.
