VSG

VSG have nominated the MND Association to be their first formal Charity of the Year for two years starting from July 2006 with a fundraising target for the first year of £50,000.
Our aim is to raise £50,000 during the next 12 months for the MND Association, which will go directly to support those most in need and help fund the research for a cure against MND. This is a huge challenge for VSG, but I firmly believe that together, with our 3,500 employees we can make a significant difference
Keith Francis, Managing Director, VSG
VSG is a Northampton-based company which provides security and support services to blue-chip organisations across the UK. Formed in March 2000, VSG now employs 3,500 staff across the UK.
How are VSG doing it?
With staff based countrywide we knew VSG would need to develop its communication channels to get everyone involved. Therefore, VSG created their own fundraising website for the launch of the partnership in addition to a double page spread in the company's quarterly newsletter for staff and clients. They also hosted a launch day at their head office in Northampton to get things off to a flying start.
As the vast majority of the £50,000 target is expected to be raised through employee fundraising, the MND Association will be providing key support throughout the partnership providing fundraising ideas.
Their fundraising so far...
VSG have been encouraging their staff to take part in fundraising activities across the country. Some staff have chosen to do sponsored parachute jumps or take part in runs, others have organised raffles and collections locally.
At their head office a number of fundraising events have taken place. It all started with their launch day in July last year where staff were invited to soak the management! Since then they have organised a quiz night and a live performance from the band Accrington Stanley at an exclusive Northampton night spot.
VSG have also organised a monthly payroll lottery for its staff, which is proving to be a huge success with more staff taking part each month.
Yet to come...
VSG have a fun-packed calendar of fundraising activities yet to come! This includes a bucket collection at the Northampton Saints Rugby Ground, race night and golf day. Their fundraising year will culminate at the VSG Masked Ball in June.
