Mobile Phone Recycling At Work
In the UK alone we replace 15 million mobile phone handsets every year. Fewer than 10% are recycled with an estimated 100 million being left to gather dust in people's drawers.
For every mobile phone you collect and recycle through our scheme we will receive £3.50!
Eventually many of these mobiles will find their way into rubbish bins. Phones discarded in landfill sites can leak cadmium, lithium and mercury into the earth. A phone's printed circuit board often contains poisonous lead solder and the casing can give off toxic fumes when incinerated in a waste transfer station.
