Tribute Funds

Tribute FundsPeople who have MND or know others who do, often have a sense of determination - a determination to do something to support people with MND, and work towards a cure for this remorseless disease.

"The Tribute Fund provides a very positive focus. It pulls everyone together for a common cause"

Suzanne Despard, whose mother Mary Lesbirel died from MND in 2008.

A FITTING TRIBUTE TO SOMEONE SPECIAL

An MND Association Tribute Fund provides a special way of doing just that. Whether you know someone who has the condition, or wish to remember someone who was special to you, we would be honoured to create a Tribute Fund in his or her name.

HELPING US IN THEIR NAME

Every contribution will act as a tribute to the person in whose honour the Fund has been created, whilst giving important financial support to the work of the MND Association. We provide personal, regular updates so you can see how your specific Fund is growing.

Family, friends, and colleagues can contribute to the Fund in whatever way they wish. Whether it's making a simple personal gift, perhaps on a special anniversary; setting up a regular gift by Direct Debit; responding to an Appeal; running a marathon; holding a coffee morning, or receiving gifts into the Fund in lieu of presents  - all are gratefully received and importantly, greatly appreciated for the thought behind them

In response to supporter enquiries, we can now also record a legacy pledge in a new or existing Tribute Fund. When we eventually receive the gift, its value will be included within the Fund's overall fundraising total together with any other gifts and donations already received. Please email Tribute Fund enquiries to request your copy of our "Tribute Fund with Legacy" booklet.

NO SET-UP OR MAINTENANCE CHARGES

There is no cost to you in the setting up or maintenance of  your Tribute Fund and we are always happy to create a Fund, no matter how big or small.

A FUND CAN ALSO HAVE ITS OWN WEBSITE

Once a Tribute Fund has been set up, it can also have its own website, where friends and family can leave messages and memories, and donate securely to the Fund online. As Suzanne Satow discovered, it’s easy to create, with a step-by-step process that anyone with Internet access can set up.

Suzanne kindly wrote an article for Thumb Print , our membership magazine, to explain how she and her family created her father's Tribute Fund website and what it means to them. The article can be found in the 'Helpful Downloads' section at the top of this page.

To find out more and / or to take a Tribute Fund online, visit our online Tribute Fund site.

Visiting a specific Fund: We do not publish a list of Tribute Fund websites. If you would like to visit a particular site but do not have the web address details, just email Tribute Fund enquiries with your name and the name of the Fund you wish to visit, and we will email you back with the necessary information.
