Association Visitor Pre-Learning

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the online pre-learning section of our Association Visitor training which should be completed before you attend the first day of your training course. This is an important, and compulsory, part of the training and by completing all the sections you will arrive at the course equipped with an introductory level of knowledge about many of the topics which will be covered in more depth during the rest of the training.

The sections are designed to be worked through at your own pace but we estimate that it will take around 12 hours to work through all the sections and recommend that you spread this out over the time left before the course.

In order that we can monitor your completion of the pre-learning and give you the opportunity to feedback your comments there is a short quiz and feedback form to complete after you have explored all the sections.

There are eight sections covering the following:

1. Motor Neurone Disease (MND)

2. The MND Association

3. The Role of the Association visitor

4. Communication Skills

5. Attitudes and Values

6. The Role of Health and Social Care Professionals

7. Supporting Carers

8. Association Policies

Please make a note of any questions you may have as you work through the sections and include these on the feedback form. The trainers will be pleased to answer them.

If you experience any difficulties completing the pre-learning, please contact our Learning and Development Team on 01604 611896.
