This session will remind you of the main tasks of an Association Visitor and the skills needed to carry out the role. You will also have the opportunity to listen to two visitors discussing various aspects of the role. This includes the initial visit to someone with MND, boundaries of the role, confidentiality, the importance of listening, how AVs can work with branches and groups and the support that visitors will receive.
1. Read the Association Visitor role description, taking note of the main qualities and skills needed and the key tasks a visitor undertakes. Consider how these would apply to you and how you might carry out the role.
