The branch hold a coffee afternoon for people with MND and their carers. This is held on the third Monday of each month from 2pm at Pennells Garden Centre, Humberston Road, Cleethorpes, DN36 4RW.

The Firefighters calendar has sold very well and been well publicised – raising lots of awareness. A few calendars are still available at a reduced cost – please contact Lisa on the above email address. Money is still coming in but we have taken £9000 in calendar sales. A very big thank you to everyone who has helped.

Lisa was recently presented with a cheque from a group of Phillips66 employees. They took part in the annual Alan Smith Challenge – a 13-mile run followed by 26- mile bike ride from the refinery to the Humber Bridge and back. The event is in its 10th year in memory of Alan Smith, who was tragically killed in a work accident in 2002, aged 35. Employees are sponsored to take part and money raised from the annual event is given to worthy local causes. This year the money was split between the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Down's Syndrome Family Support Group and our branch of the MND Association.

The last year has been a very successful one for fundraising – money has been raised in various ways from table top sales, sponsored walks, marathons, ice hockey matches, calendars, and the list goes on! Again thank you to everyone who has donated – large or small – every amount counts.
