My husband Brendan was diagnosed with MND at 3.10pm on the 14th January 2009. He died at 10.20pm on the 14th January 2009.
Brendan had respiratory muscle failure and this was the only sign of MND that he had.
Brendan was with myself, our daughter and grandchildren on Christmas Day in 2008. Just 20 days later Brendan died from this terrible disease.
My daughter and I have since joined the Northern Ireland MND Association Branch and to date we have raised almost £19,000, and will continue to fund and raise awareness of this terrible disease.
