Sarah Ezkiel
Sarah Ezkiel was diagnosed with MND in April 2000. Here Sarah talks about how contribution to the DIPEx website. I was diagnosed with MND in April 2000 whilst pregnant. I wasn't given any written information about the disease or told where to access any. I felt very isolated and ignorant.
Therefore, I was delighted when DIPEx asked to interview me for their website. I hope that my experiences and positive attitude will help others dealing with MND. I think DIPEx is a very informative website and I'm happy that MND is now featured there.
DIPEx researcher Louise Locock asked if she could film my interview for the website and I agreed. I can't speak very well anymore so used my laptop with E Z Keys. I hope that the film of me may reassure those with bulbar symptoms. An electronic voice can have quite a lot of impact and I'd be lost without it!
I know from experience that MND is an extremely lonely and frightening disease. Being able to read about/see real people talking about their experiences will benefit sufferers and health professionals alike. I'm very proud to be featured on the DIPEx website and I am sure that it will be a significant step forward for MND.
