MND Connect TeamWhether you have been diagnosed with MND or you know someone who has, our services can make a real difference to how you cope in the future. MND is a life changing illness and our teams are dedicated to helping you make these changes as smoothly as possible.
The MND Association can provide information about how to access all the help and support you may need.

MND Connect 08457 626262, is open five days a week, 9am-5pm and 7pm-10.30pm, offering information, support and advice.

Publications

Our publications cover a whole range of related issues, from specific aspects of MND, to treatment advice and research developments.

Regional Care Development Advisers

Information as well as individual support is available from our Regional Care Development Advisers (RCDAs). These trained Health & Social Care Professionals have expert knowledge of the care and management of MND.

Association Visitors

A very important source of information, advice and support are the Association Visitors and Befrienders. These trained men and women are based throughout the country with a vast amount of experience and knowledge on all aspects of MND.

Local Branches

There is a network of over 95 Branches and Groups nationwide, these provide a warm welcome, friendship and the opportunity to meet with other people affected by MND in your community.

Equipment Loan

Learning how to use a lightwriter at the Manchester Care Centre. The Association has an equipment loan service offering some key items of equipment, which can be requested by an appropriate Health & Social Care Professional, via the Regional Care Development Adviser or National Office.

Financial Support

The Association will also consider requests for financial support/funding for anyone with a diagnosis of MND for:
  • Respite Care
  • Equipment rental

Care Centres

For the past 10 years the Association has been helping to establish Care and Research Centres across the UK. There are now 15 Care Centres based in many large hospitals, with specialist doctors and nurses coordinating the care of people with MND.

Influencing

The Association also uses its knowledge of the disease to speak out on your behalf and influence decision-makers at local and national level.
