Lembit Opik MP visits Southampton MND Care Centre

Lembit visits Southampton MND care centre President of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association Lembit Opik MP visited the MND Care Centre at Southampton General Hospital this week to meet local people with MND and the professionals that care for them.

The Centre provides multidisciplinary care and offers a wide range of advice, support, specialist knowledge and training for people with MND, their families and carers.

Lembit also met members of the MND Association’s Southampton Branch, before touring the Wessex Neurological Centre, one of the largest neuroscience centres in the country.

Clare Erridge, MND Care Centre co-ordinator, said: “We were delighted Lembit came down to Southampton to see us as part of his work to help raise the profile of MND.”

The Southampton MND Care Centre supports over 100 patients and carers every year, helping to make a real difference to the lives of people with MND.
