Motor Neurone Disease Association recruits new Director of Fundraising
16 May 2008
The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Douglas Graham as its new Director of Fundraising.
Douglas joins from the British Heart Foundation where he was Head of Supporter Retention. Douglas was responsible for managing the relationship with the charity’s existing supporters.
Douglas brings with him many years of experience gained from working within the charity sector, including seven years at Oxfam where he was instrumental in setting up Oxfam Unwrapped.
Douglas will play a key role in developing the Association’s fundraising strategy, paying particular attention to engaging existing supporters across a broad range of income streams.
He said: “I remember very clearly reading some personal accounts of people living with MND. The real life experiences of people affected by this devastating disease touched me deeply. Reading through the Association’s literature it became very clear to me that this was a charity with a very important cause.
“I’m proud to be joining the MND Association. I’ve joined a very committed team of staff and volunteers. I look forward to building on the Association’s success and to make a positive difference to people with MND and their families and carers.”
