The Dunking Amnesty – now showing on You Tube
08 August 2008
Starring MP Lembit Opik, the Cheeky Girls, Betty the Cheeky Girl impostor and the Mayor of BrightonDavid Daly, the owner of the Tea Cosy, Brighton had built his reputation by enforcing a strict code of etiquette. Repulsed by the decline of manners facing Britain today David banned dunking and anyone who dared to dunk faced immediate expulsion.
Meanwhile a very different view of dunking was taking place at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. Deciding to tap into the British love of dunking (nearly half of us do it on a weekly or more basis) the MND Association has created a national fundraiser based on the popular activity.
One day brought these two very different views together - 19 June – the day David Daly’s life turned upside down.
MND Association supporters descended on the Tea Cosy to dunk their biscuits in their tea. The next few hours proved crucial to the great dunk debate and the aged old question – is it rude to dunk food?
Footage of the dunking amnesty is now showing on You Tube. Watch the five minute film, generously produced by Sweet Images Production and see how much fun dunking can be.
Will David Daly drop Cheeky Girl Monica in the giant bucket of tea?
Will Lembit convince David to dunk for the first time ever?
And… do they dunk in Romania?
Click on The Dunking Amnesty to find out. Oh, and the final question – is it rude to dunk food? The answer is a resounding NO!
