The Poster Session explained: A hot bed of MND topics

04 November 2008
In a suite of rooms in the Birmingham Metropole Hotel over 800 delegates were milling around over 260 posters! These posters are one metre square and with so many submissions they take up a lot of room. It was hot, noisy and crowded! However even for the most intrepid delegates, the Poster Session is a must attend part of the International Symposium on ALS/MND.

Here researchers from India, Japan and Korea to USA and the Netherlands got together to learn about their latest research. In some places the aisles of the poster sessions were impassable where researchers were keen to discuss the most popular presentations.

Topics of the posters ranged from basic, laboratory based research through to ways that people with MND can be supported by volunteers to pathways for providing the best possible respiratory management for people with MND.
