More about health & social care research grants
We are currently funding projects addressing the priorities below for a pilot health and social care grant round. We are not currently inviting further applications.
The objective of the Health and Social Care research programme is to create an evidence base to support gaps in our Clinical Guidelines, which in turn will improve quality of care for people affected by MND.
Our funding priorities for the pilot round were:
- Palliative management of respiratory distress (with particular reference to management of patients undergoing voluntary withdrawal of non-invasive ventilation).
- Assessment of the impact of cough assist techniques on respiratory function, survival and quality of life.
- Factors influencing patient decision-making on gastrostomy and/or non-invasive ventilation.
