Projects we fund

The MND Association awards research funding annually under three different schemes: the Project Grants scheme, the Studentship scheme and the MRC/MND Association Lady Edith Wolfson Fellowship scheme.
In addition, Programme Grants enable us to provide larger scale funding in a focussed fashion.

Project grants

Funding biomedical, clinical and healthcare research of the highest scientific merit and greatest relevance to MND.

PhD Studentship projects

Attracting promising science graduates to develop a career in MND research.

Clinical Fellowships

The Association's jointly funded clinical fellowships aim to support clinicians wishing to pursue research into the causes and treatment of motor neurone disease.

Creation of a National DNA Bank

The Association's first programme grant, aiming to provide a valuable resource for future research.
