Nick Goldup

Nick joined the MND Association in August 2017 following 5 ½ years as Director of NHS Partnerships at the children’s charity Whizz-Kidz and prior to this 4 years supporting pro bono whilst working as a European Buying Manager at Tesco.

After working alongside senior NHS commissioners and stakeholders to implement improvements to care and streamline procurement activities, he also worked with the MND Association in his role as a member of the National Wheelchair Alliance. Nick broadened his understanding of the health sector as a Non-Exec Director of a wound and lymphedema service based out Mile End Hospital for 5 years and as a national advisor to a selection of NHSE and DH wheelchair improvement programmes.

Prior to his roles in the third sector, Nick enjoyed a successful corporate career and has worked in a variety of blue chip procurement roles over a 15 year period, including buyer for the DLR City Airport extension, Mitsubishi Electric Europe and over three years as a timber buyer based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

During his spare time Nick is a keen triathlete, cyclist and marathon runner having run the London Marathon twice, completed 7 triathlons and numerous cycling events including 975 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats and 1200 miles cycling 5 capitals in 12 days, both of which combined raised £½ million for charity.
