My journey with the MND Association began when my best friend’s father Ian was diagnosed with MND in October 2013.

I started by engaging with the local branch in Manchester where I received excellent support and advice and started to raise funds in support of the Association by participating in a number of fundraising activities.

Before losing Ian in December 2016, his sister Janet was also diagnosed with MND and our resolve as a family grew to do whatever we could to raise both awareness and funds to help us find that much needed cure. We sadly lost Janet in December 2017.

I became a Trustee with Ian and Janet's support in 2016. I bring to the role many years experience gained as a senior manager within a variety of sectors including retail, social housing and the NHS. I am currently an Associate Director of Workforce for a large acute hospital in the North West. Alongside my professional expertise I believe my experience of supporting Ian, Janet and their families will allow me to assist the organisation in achieving its vision and strategy.
