Lucy Pittaway’s award winning art has been inspired by her daily life in Yorkshire, family, feelings and past experiences, very much shaped by losing her father, Middlesbrough Football Club legend, Willie Maddren, to motor neurone disease in 2000 aged just 49.
Lucy created a piece, ‘Father and Daughter’, depicting Lucy looking lovingly up at her father as the storm clouds gather behind them. She included red poppies that represent his beloved Middlesbrough Football Club, adding a bright and colourful element to this emotional, but popular piece. Father and Daughter proved such an emotive painting, selling out quickly and raising much needed funds for research into motor neurone disease as well as support for families.
