Our AVs are amazing. But we need your help to train more of them.
Association Visitors (AVs) aren’t just dedicated, compassionate people. They’re highly trained in the specialist skills and understanding they need to support people living with MND.
It takes around five months to train an AV. As well as residential training days and online learning, they carry out accompanied visits to local people with MND. Continued supervision, training updates and networking and development days ensure their skills stay up to date. But acquiring and maintaining that expertise doesn’t come cheap.
By helping us meet the costs you will be giving more people with MND invaluable help, tailored to their needs. From practical and emotional support to providing accurate information and connecting people with local services, having an AV is a lifeline for families struggling to cope with MND.
could help provide training, so AVs can give practical and emotional support to people with MND.
could help towards funding specialised equipment or home adaptation needs identified by an AV.
could help fund research to improve diagnosis, so more people get access to an AV sooner.
Your support is vital. Please help today and give more people with MND the support they need from an AV , like me.
