MNDA Dr Andrew Tossolini

My dad lost his life to MND. He's my inspiration every single day...

MND Research Appeal 2020

My dad, Paul Tosolini, died on my wedding day

He'd been living with MND for seven years.  Against the odds, he held out for the day I married Elizabeth.

He made sure he saw everything, our vows, the speeches, our first dance. He sat there, watching proudly, my Mum by his side.

It was only as they were leaving the wedding that his body finally gave way.

That's why I'm an MND researcher. First and foremost, I do this for Dad. I couldn't do anything to stop him from dying from MND, but I can try and free my son's generation from this disease. Will you help?

What is MND?

Motor neurone disease (MND) describes a group of diseases that affect the nerves (motor neurones) in the brain and spinal cord that tell your muscles what to do. MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life.
