  2. I understand that the MND Association have the right to refuse registration or application for a place in an Event without providing reasons for doing so and at any time.

  4. You acknowledge that the MND Association incurs costs as a result of you joining our marathon team e.g. if you have taken a charity place then the cost of this place and also the cost of producing and sending fundraising packs/running vest/fundraising materials. The objective of joining our team is to raise as much money as possible to help us achieve our vision.
  5. Funds raised through the London Marathon 2023 will be used to fund the work that we do in order to help us achieve our vision of a world free from MND
  6. In the event of injury, or if you can no longer take part in the event you must inform us by emailing or calling 01604 611860. We regret that we are unable to refund any registration payments made to us nor can we guarantee a deferral to a future event. Please read our withdrawal policy below.

Charity Runners

  1. We define a charity place runner as anyone who has obtained a place in the London Marathon directly from the MND Association and has committed to raise a minimum of £3,000 as a condition of the place (excluding registration fee and gift aid). Should you wish to raise funds for a Branch or Group then you must first raise the above minimum amount. After this amount is reached we allow for 50% over the minimum fundraising pledge to go to the branch or group of your choice as long as you confirm in writing with us that you would like this to happen and also add a sentence to your online donation page to say funds raised will come to the national office and the specific branch you have selected.
  2. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you also agree to raise a minimum amount of £1,000 by 31 December 2022. Should you not reach this target you agree to discuss your fundraising plans with the event coordinator. Failure to raise this may put your place at risk.
  3. The MND Association has a very limited number of spaces in the London Marathon 2023 and no guarantee can be given that your application will be successful. We receive many more applications than we have event places, so unfortunately not everyone who applies will be given a place.
  4. Your application will be reviewed by the MND Association team and you may be contacted to discuss your application by email or phone. An independent panel will make the decision on who received places.
  5. You must pay your £75 registration fee to the MND Association within 4 weeks of being offered a place in the London Marathon 2023. If we don’t receive payment by this date, we reserve the right to cancel your place and offer it to someone else.
  6. If your application is successful and you pay your £75 registration fee, we will ensure that your place is reserved for the London Marathon 2023. You will be required to complete your registration on the race organisers online entry system by The deadline date, which will be set by the London Marathon Events company.  We will provide you with full details of how to do this.  If you do not complete the London Marathon online entry system you will lose your place and you will not be entitled to a refund or a deferral.
  7. On receipt of payment of the registration fee, you will be sent a welcome pack including your running vest and fundraising support materials. Our team is here to help. We will provide advice and support to help you with your fundraising and to achieve your minimum target.

Withdrawal Policy

  1. You understand that if for any reason you are unable to participate in the event and wish to withdraw, the MND Association could return any online fundraising donations to the original donor if requested. If you or your sponsors feel that donations should be refunded, your sponsors will need to contact us directly and individually.
  2. If you have purchased a charity place, we regret that your registration payment cannot be refunded or transferred. You will need to re-apply for a Charity Place (this will not be guaranteed) and you will be required to pay the registration fee and commit to the sponsorship pledge that is set for that year.  Deferrals are at our discretion and will not take place automatically.
  3. If you accept one of our charity places but subsequently secure your own place (e.g. through the London Marathon ballot or Good-for-age place) you must let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your charity place to someone else. You will not be entitled to a refund of your registration fee. Alternatively, you may be able to defer your ballot place to the following year but this is dependent on the Event Organiser and you must contact them directly. You may be required to pay the registration fee to the Organiser for that year.

  1. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you understand that the event may be cancelled due to the ongoing global pandemic.
  2. In the event that this happens, where possible, we will offer you a place in the same event on a future date. Please note, this is dependent on the terms from the event organisers.
  3. If we are unable to offer you a place in a future event, we will offer you a place in an alternative event.
  4. If you are unable to take part in the alternative dates or events that are offered to you, you are entitled to a refund of your registration fee.
  5. If you are unable to take part in an alternative event, you must advise all those who have donated towards your fundraising target that you are unable to complete your event and that they are entitled to request a refund for their donation if they wish to.
