The biggest Campaigns Contact weekend yet!
Our annual training and networking residential weekend for Campaigns Contacts took place on 14-16 July in London, opened by Chief Executive Sally Light. A record-breaking 28 campaign volunteers spent the weekend learning about our new MND Costs campaign as well as trading ideas and inspiration for campaigning on issues for people with MND in their local area.
Other sessions included an update on our other major campaign, Champion The Charter On Your Doorstep, an introduction to the Association’s policy work, as well as workshops and skill-shares on influencing MPs, campaign planning and getting connected in your local community.
But it wasn’t all work! Led by Campaigns Contact Katy Styles, participants also had a chance to practice their embroidery skills to make gifts for their MP. This is called craftivism (a combination of craft and activism). They also had the chance to watch inspiring films about campaigning and recharge their batteries with a little mindful practice.
Campaigning volunteers raise awareness, influence decision makers and take action on behalf of people affected by MND. If you’d like more information visit our webpage.
