Changes in the Care Team
We recently said farewell to Karen Pearce, Director of Care for the south, who after 7 years of working for the Association, has now retired. Here’s what Karen had to say:
“Thank you so much for all your wonderful gifts and best wishes. It has been a great job with people that go the extra mile and reflecting on all the changes over the last few years, none of them could possibly have happened without such an amazing team and collaborative effort. I will look back on the best job I have ever had with great affection, and will continue to support everything you do for people affected by MND.”
Nick Goldup, will be joining us in the new role of Director of Care Improvement. Nick joins us from the charity Whizz-Kidz, where he is the Director of Partnerships. We have worked with Nick in his current role as partners on the Wheelchair Leadership Alliance and we know what a strong and successful advocate he has been in securing improvements to children’s wheelchair services during his time at Whizz-Kidz and will no doubt be an asset to the team.
Steve Bell will oversee all operational activities in the care directorate as Deputy Director and reporting to him is the Head of National Care, Pauline Matheson, who will have responsibility for the Equipment Loan and Financial Support team, the MND Connect team, the Care Administration team and Wheelchair and AAC Services.
