Awards and recognition

Long Service Awards

To help us recognise and acknowledge the contribution of volunteers, we have long service award certificates and pin badges. These are available for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of volunteering.

Many branches and groups use events such as an AGM, Christmas lunch, or anniversary event to present long service awards to volunteers.

If you would like to present long service awards at a forthcoming event, please contact the Volunteering Team giving at least 2 weeks notice, where possible, to ensure we have time to prepare and post the certificates to you.

Awards for 25, 30 and 35 years will take longer to produce so please give us at least 4 weeks notice for these.

Certificates of Recognition

For volunteers who have may not be eligible for a long service award, but have nonetheless deserve recognition for their contribution, certificates of recognition are available.

Please contact the Volunteering Team if you would like to present a certificate of recognition.

UK National Honours

We are privileged to have a wealth of wonderful volunteers, supporters, partners and staff who make a tremendous contribution to the lives of people affected by MND, their local community and to the work of the Association.

We have set up a committee who meet twice a year to consider possible nominations from the Association for the Queen’s Birthday and New Year Honours.  The awards committee is made up of a small and representative group of trustees, volunteers and staff.

Whilst we cannot nominate everyone who makes such a huge contribution for an award, nor guarantee those that we nominate will succeed, it is fitting and appropriate that we celebrate the contributions of our colleagues in this way.  We will submit a small number of nominations twice a year which will be decided upon by the awards committee.

It is important that these nominations are confidential, so please do not tell the person you are putting forward nor share your nomination wider than those few who you think will be asked to provide supportive statements.

We welcome nominations at any time of the year and will consider them at the next committee meeting.

Please send your completed nomination form to sarah.jones@mndassociation.org.
