Update on the roles in the regions

Building on our values and ensuring that people living with and affected by MND are at the heart of all that we do as an Association, our regional review is now in the implementation stage. We are currently recruiting to the new roles of Area Support Coordinator (ASC) and Service Delivery Manager (SDM) and that recruitment is going well, with the majority of posts being filled by mid to late April. We are pleased to note that many existing regional staff were successful in obtaining some of these positions, ensuring on-going continuity. In some areas however, we acknowledge that some existing staff are leaving the Association and we wish all of them the very best for the future. We also welcome all new staff who will be joining us.

Over the next few months, we will be holding a range of events for all volunteers to meet with Association Directors and Managers to discuss how the changes will work in their areas. A number of methods will be used including Directors visiting Local Delivery Teams (LDT’s) and also opportunities for branches and groups to dial in.

We wish to reinforce that the key priority for our ASC’s will be to meet with their Branches and Groups, and work with those Branches and Groups to understand the key priorities in the local area, and of course, to provide on-going support for Association Visitors. Where we currently have ASC’s in post, that has already started and in the recruitment process for new ASC staff, we have also been able to very successfully include Branch and Group representatives locally in the recruitment process.
