Carers Week 8 – 14th June 2020
We are delighted to let you know that we are supporting Carers Week in 2020. The theme this year is ‘Making caring visible’.
Carers Week aims to
- Celebrate the, often overlooked, contribution of the UK’s carers to the people they care for and their communities.
- Raise the profile of the role of caring and help people to identify themselves as carers so they can access support, advice and information;
- Highlight the challenges of caring to people and organisations that might make a difference to the carer experience.
The Association works with partner organisations to represent carers on a national stage. During Carers Week we will meet with MPs to talk about the challenges carers face and asking them to support improvements and encourage positive change.
How can you get involved?
- Host an event.
An important part of Carers Week are the events held for carers. Your branch group might organise something for your members and possibly open it up wider within your community. This could be anything from an information session to a coffee morning – it depends what you have to offer! The purpose of these events is to give carers support, information or an enjoyable break.
You can register your event on the Carers UK website and you will be sent a resource pack to help you with promotion.
- Tweet your support and get carers and caring trending!
Share your experiences or what you are doing during the week at #CarersWeek.
