Health and social care services for MND

If you or someone close to you has been given a diagnosis of MND, there is a great deal of professional support available. As MND progresses, a mix of clinical and social care is helpful.

Your GP and other health and social care professionals can refer you to specialist help when needed  and with MND, needs change over time. No two individuals with MND will have exactly the same symptoms at the same time, or in the same order. This means different professionals help at different stages and many services can be involved. Not all of them will be needed immediately and some may never be required, but it helps to know the types of support you can access.

We provide information to help. Please see our page What help is available to find out about needs assessment, the types of care available, who provides them and more.
