The MND Association can provide information about how to access all the help and support you may need.
“I found the MND Association to be outstanding. The help and advice I received from the Helpline and your local services was first class. Please be there for others. Thanks.” (Carer)
MND Connect 0808 802 6262, is open five days a week, 9am-5pm and 7pm-10.30pm, offering information and support.
Our resources and publications cover a whole range of related issues, from specific aspects of MND or Kennedy’s disease, to treatment advice and research developments.
Our Regional Care Development Advisers (RCDAs) are trained Health & Social Care Professionals. They work closely with local authorities on care provision and can advise in complex situations, as they have expert knowledge of the care and management of MND.
A very important source of information, advice and support are our Association Visitors. These trained volunteers are based throughout the country with a vast amount of experience and knowledge on all aspects of MND.
There is a network of 89 branches and groups across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, run by volunteers who work together in a variety of ways to provide support, raise awareness, influence and fundraise at a local level. Many of these arrange meetings that give an opportunity to meet other people affected by MND in your community.
The Association has an equipment loan service offering some key items of equipment, which can be requested by an appropriate Health & Social Care Professional.
To find out about this service and the items that may be available, please contact the MND Support Services team using the contact details on the Financial Support page.
The Association will also consider requests for financial support/funding for anyone with a diagnosis of MND.
For over 10 years the Association has been helping to establish MND Care and Research Centres across the UK. There are now 19 MND Care Centres based in many large hospitals, with 2 networks using outreach teams, all with specialist doctors and nurses coordinating the care of people with MND.
