North Midland Care Network co-directors

Dr Thomas Lambert, Consultant Neurologist, has become the fourth Co-Director of the North Midlands MND Care and Research Network which was established in 2018.

Chris Bennett, Head of Regional Care Partnerships, Central and West at the MND Association said:

“I am delighted that Dr Thomas Lambert has accepted our invitation to become a Co-Director of the North Midlands MND Care and Research Network. This role recognises his important contribution of bringing invaluable MND research studies to the Network.”

The Network provides a service for people living with motor neurone disease (MND) in Staffordshire and surrounding areas including Cheshire, Shropshire and Wolverhampton.

Dr Lambert regularly sees people living with MND in clinics at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital, Stafford. He also leads on MND research in Stoke and has been making links with other research centres so people living with MND can access studies like drug trials from Stoke rather than having to go elsewhere or miss out completely.

Dr Lambert said:

“I am very pleased to be a member of the team and I am particularly glad that we have been able to allow some of our patients to be involved in research in MND, particularly drug trials.”

He is pictured at the top receiving our Certificate of Partnership from fellow Network Co-Director and Respiratory Consultant Physician, Dr Naveed Mustfa.

We help to fund and support the co-ordination of care within 22 care and research centres across the country.
