The race heads through Newcastle city centre towards the River Tyne, where thousands of runners will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge – and where if you’re lucky enough – you’ll get a glimpse of and enjoy the thrilling sensation of the Red Arrows passing overhead. Running through Gateshead, you will be kept entertained by bands to lift your spirits as the route, lined by thousands of supporters, leads you to South Shields with the view of the sea proving to be one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course – the home straight!
