Care and Support Alliance launch petition on Social Care
The Motor Neurone Disease Association is a member of the Care and Support Alliance (CSA) – an alliance formed of over 80 charities who campaign for a properly funded social care system, alongside the millions of disabled people, older people and their carers who deserve decent care.
The CSA has launched a petition calling on the Government to publish its consultation on social care by early 2018.

The Government has promised to consult on its proposals to reform social care and must keep its promise to bring forward plans to create a care system which is fit for purpose, and publish proposals for a sustainable solution so people can receive quality care both today and in the future.
Social care is vital for people with MND and their families. It provides much of the care needed to maintain their quality of life as far as is possible.
Our MND Costs research found that the current situation in social care is not at all adequate for people with MND: the system is often too slow to respond and it often does not provide enough care, leaving people having to fund their own care, in addition to the many other costs of living with MND.
Despite recent investment from the Government, the Health Foundation estimates that £2.5 billion more funding for social care will be needed by 2019/20 just to keep pace with the number of people who need care.
Please sign the petition, and support people with MND and all disabled and older people and their families who need better social care.
