39 Members of the Senedd (MS) have signed our Amser i MND pledge, promising to champion people with motor neurone disease.

The Association launched the campaign in February, asking candidates to help improve the lives of people living with and affected by MND in Wales if elected.

We worked closely with our community of supporters and campaign volunteers to get our pledge in front of signees, with this activism proving crucial.

This collective effort resulted in more than 100 candidates across every constituency in Wales signing the e-action.

39 of those were elected as MSs and eight of these have now been appointed to cabinet positions in the government, with new First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth also showing his support for our campaign.

The Association teams are now working with those individuals to build relationships and will be following up with them to discuss our manifesto asks.

Arin Gulsen, Senior Policy and Public Affairs Advisor for Wales, said: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to contact their candidates for Amser i MND.

“The hard work and dedication of our supporters means over 40% of MSs have made a commitment to work on issues that affect the MND community.

“It gives us a great springboard for influencing decision-makers and we can’t applaud our community enough for their efforts.”

If you’d like to meet your new MS to discuss the issues faced by people with MND, email campaigns@mndassociation.org.

We will send you a template email to support your ask which also details the actions we want the new government to take.

Your involvement can make a significant difference in ensuring the voices of those affected by MND continue to be heard in the new Senedd.
