Exploring the experiences of people with muscle stiffness and spasms
Muscle stiffness and spasms are common symptoms seen in MND, leading to limitations in mobility. Current treatments for muscle stiffness and spasms provide only limited relief and could lead to unwanted side effects. Other types of intervention, such as physical and occupational therapy, may only have limited effects.
The researchers aim to get a better understanding how muscle stiffness and spasms affect people living with MND. They hope that this will help to guide the development of new, more meaningful interventions. They hope that the survey will provide critical insights into the experiences and priorities of people living with MND.
How will this study help people with and affected by MND now and/or in the future?
The knowledge gained from this survey will help to guide the development of future treatments aimed at improving symptom management for people with MND who experience muscle stiffness and spasms.
