A big thanks to the local volunteer team for putting on a fantastic Cleveland Quiz Night. Along with an extra special shout out to Mick and his band! It would not have been possible without you all.

Tyne & Wear Volunteers

With the invaluable support from our volunteers, we organised a wreath making session for Tyne and Wear. This group wouldn’t be what it is without the volunteers! A special shout out to Dawn Nichol and Julia Harris, two Association Visitors who also run local monthly support groups. They have made a lasting impact, bringing people together to form friendships and connection. Thank you!

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Volunteers

Coventry & Warwickshire Volunteers

Our volunteers who cover the Coventry and Warwickshire area provide amazing support to the local MND community. 

They are a strong team who work exceptionally hard to raise awareness, organise fundraising events, helping with the facilitation of local support groups and providing one to one support to people who are affected by MND.

Their successful Afternoon Tea and Walk to D'feet have raised significant money for the group and engaged with so many people to ensure no one faces MND alone!

Birmingham & Solihull Volunteers

Doreen has been simply amazing in her role in Fundraising, and was for a very long time part of the committee until recently.

Thank you so much for all of your passion, determination and raising funds and awareness to support those living with MND and their families in the area. You have been an absolute force of nature and have been incredible!

Sue has put on fundraising dinners, bike rides, football matches and much more to continue Tony's fight in his name.

Jenni has been an AV for 5 years operating behind the scenes, supporting local families following diagnosis and assisting with accessing services, and validating all that family carers undertake. A dedicated Treasurer, Alan has supported the branch for over 30 years. He has continued in the role while a new Treasurer is found, demonstrating his commitment and loyalty to the Branch. The glue that holds the South London Branch together. Even through her own challenges, Evelyn remains deeply committed to the branch and the local MND community. Joan has been an AV for several years and is the backbone of the service in Northamptonshire. Joan is always willing to share her experience and expertise, both with new and existing AVs and with new starters to the MND Association as she is a regular speaker at Induction Days. Joan supports individuals and is a regular, comforting presence at the support groups. I'd like to say a huge thanks to Joan for all of her dedication and support both to her colleagues and to those with and affected by MND!

Jenny has been an AV and Branch Committee member for a significant number of years, and knows everything there is to know about the Services in Leicestershire and Rutland! Jenny is not only a great support to her AV Colleagues and members of the Branch, but also to the staff at the local Hospice, where Jenny has fabulous relations and is well respected for her knowledge. Jenny is instrumental in arranging and attending the support groups and is a wonderful comfort to those who she visits. I would like to say a huge thank you to Jenny for her passion and dedication throughout the years!

Norman is a new Association Visitor (AV) and has engaged enthusiastically from first joining us, and is willing to support people living with MND in various ways from initial home visits, taking on one to one support and helping at support meetings. He is a great listener, with a great sense of humour, is well organised and conscientious and is willing to get involved in whatever way he can.  He has recently joined the branch committee, and I have no doubt he will make thoughtful and constructive contributions to those meetings. Debbie is an Association Visitor (AV) and Group Committee member, and shows unwavering dedication and commitment to the organisation’s Cause and Purpose. Debbie is kind, passionate and determined to make a difference for people affected by MND and for her fellow volunteers. Debbie thinks big and recently promoted volunteering opportunities at a local volunteering recruitment event where she shared our mission far and wide. Debbie also recently spoke at our Leadership Forum where she shared her approach to thinking big with other volunteers. Thank you, Debbie!
