#TEAMMND has done it again with 234 runners raising more than £150,000 at this year’s Great North Run.

The iconic event, which took place on 7 September, is one of the biggest events in the Association’s fundraising calendar with the money raised helping to support people living with motor neurone disease (MND) and their families, while also funding important research.

Once again, there was an incredible atmosphere around the 13.1 mile course from Newcastle to South Shields with the Association’s runners being congratulated by staff and volunteers at the Association’s finish line marquee.

The MND Association’s Jessica Cudone said: “The Great North Run is an incredible event and we are so grateful for our team of runners who helped to raise important funds and awareness on behalf of the MND community on Sunday.

“Every mile, and every penny raised makes such a difference to people living with MND and their families and we couldn’t be more grateful for #TeamMND’s determination and support.”

The September ballot for the Great North Run 2026 is now open until 14 September at 23:59, or you can secure your charity place today.
