EnCouRage is a unique two-day UK event which aims to recognise, retain and encourage the important work of early career researchers (ECRs) who have chosen MND as their area of investigation. It is specifically planned to support them in their career, with inspiring and interactive talks and workshops from well-respected and experienced scientists, clinicians and experts. The event focuses on networking, fostering collaboration and engagement. It provides an important opportunity to bring together ECRs with people living with and affected by MND, to build partnerships and gain a greater understanding of the research interests of the MND community.
Our programme offers a range of opportunities for learning and networking, for both ECRs and people living with and affected by MND, with discussions; presentations; workshops; and activities aimed at bringing together the research and MND communities in an informal and relaxed environment.
A highlight of both days is our ‘Lightning Talks’ sessions where each of the ECRs are given three-minutes to present their work (in lay terms) to the audience. This is a wonderful way for the ECRs to share their research, and passion, for the projects they have undertaken, and it offers a taste of the huge diversity of MND research currently being carried out.

Our Venue
The Staverton Park Hotel and Golf Club, set in the heart of the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, offers modern conference facilities, comfortable guest accommodation and leisure activities.
Complimentary use of the heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room and gym is available to all delegates - located in the Leisure Club, just a short walk from the main hotel building.
Complimentary accommodation is available to ECRs and presenters on the 26, 27, 28 June and to people living with and affected by MND on the 27 and 28 June.
Staverton Park Hotel and Golf Club is close to J16 and J18 of the M1 and 14 miles from the M6, with train links from London Euston and Birmingham New Street/Birmingham International stations to Long Buckby, Rugby and Northampton.
