The Senedd election in Wales will take place on 7th May 2026 and represents a significant political change in Wales. The Senedd is where the Welsh government and the Senedd members govern Wales in devolved matters of policy, such as the NHS, making it an important focus for people living with MND in Wales. As the Senedd expands from 60 to 96 Senedd members, many of them new to the Senedd, this is a great opportunity for us educate on the needs of people with MND and ask them to make Amser I MND (Time for MND) if elected.
Our Amser I MND campaign will launch in Early 2026 and we’ll be working to highlight the needs of people with this devastating condition in the hope that the Senedd candidates commit to make time for the MND community.
This campaign will be built on the principles and five key asks presented in our Senedd election 2026 Manifesto:
- Universal health and care provision across Wales
- Secure and accessible housing
- Supporting MND carers
- Championing MND research
- Changing the political landscape in Wales
We would like to encourage all Senedd election candidates to make Amser I MND in the run up to the election and following Senedd term. The five key asks above are the causes we believe are most important to improving the lives of people living with MND and hope they receive fair consideration and time from the next Senedd so we can help improve the lives of everyone in Wales with MND.
Stay tuned for more information and updates as we prepare this campaign and during the election. If you would like to get involved or be kept up to date, sign up to the MND Campaign Network linked below. It is free to join and any amount of help given would be greatly appreciated.
