Donate this winter so families affected by MND can get the support that's right for them

Every day, six more people in the UK are told the devastating news that they have MND. No one's experience is the same - so personalised support is vital for anyone affected by this awful condition.

Meet Tom and his family

Picture of Tom and his family

Sadly in 2021, a diagnosis of motor neurone disease (MND) changed Tom and his family's lives forever. The disease badly affected Tom's balance, so much so that just before Christmas 2022, he had an awkward fall which left him partially paralysed from the waist down.

The accident confined Tom to a wheelchair, and it became virtually impossible to leave his own home.

Tom's wife Rowan had to give up work to care for him. This financially impacted the family and has been a lot for the children to process.

"Attending support meetings and taking part in fundraising events has helped me.
I keep seeing familiar faces, which is really comforting - it's good to spend time with others who are going through similar experiences. All of the children received some counselling, and they've also received grants for things which we could have bought them before, but now we can't."
