All authorised volunteers registered with us are covered by our insurance policy whilst carrying out their role.

Our insurance covers individuals up to aged 90. Those who continue in a volunteering role after their 90th birthday, will not be covered for personal accident, and continue at their own risk.

All branch and group events will be covered under our insurance, providing the appropriate risk assessment checklist (for low-risk meetings) or risk assessment form (for larger fundraising events) has been completed.

It should be noted that an event organised by individuals for the benefit of the branch or group, but not involving authorised volunteers, will not be covered under our insurance and individuals should organise their own insurance.

Volunteers are not insured through the Association’s driver’s policy Vehicle use guidelines

The Branch Treasurers Guidelines are issued each year and provide details of the current level of cover for different areas of the policy.
