Meet Nickie...
Nickie, a passionate horse rider from the Wirral and mum to Ellie, invited us to her friends stables for a glimpse of life with MND. She was diagnosed in July 2023 after 18 months of symptoms including excessive yawning. Having lost her voice so early in her MND journey, Nickie encourages others to bank their voice as soon as they can. With the help of her friend Robyn and daughter Ellie, Nickie was able to continue riding long after her MND diagnosis.
Sadly, Nickie died in May 2025, but her story lives on to inspire and encourage people with and affected by MND to stay positive and make the most of the time they have.
