Take part in a research survey on physical activity

PARCC logoPhysical Activity in Rare Conditions (PARC) is a study being led by Professor Monica Busse (Cardiff University), Dr Gita Ramdharry and Dr Valentina Buscemi (National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, UCLH). We know that it can be hard for people with MND to be physically active. PARC wants to learn from people living with rare neurological conditions, including MND, and develop new ways to support physical activity.

The researchers are inviting individuals living with rare neurological conditions and their carers and/or family members to complete an online questionnaire about physical activity. The information from this survey will be used to secure funding for the development of a self-management programme.

The survey will collect information about people’s level of activity, their confidence in being active and barriers to being active. Activity is about everyday movement such as playing, working and household chores – not just about playing sports. The questionnaire is open to anyone whatever their level of activity and the researchers are looking for as many responses as possible.

If you’re a person living with MND, please answer this survey.

If you are a carer and/or family member of a person living with MND, please answer this survey.

The surveys will be open until 17 November.

If you have any questions you can speak to the PARC Research Manager, Dr Valentina Buscemi, on 020344 82456 or valentina.buscemi@nhs.net.
