Open meeting & virtual reality experience – Sunday 19 May from 14:30-16:30
We are pleased to be able to offer you a Virtual Reality experience at our next open meeting. Always wanted to see the Northern Lights or visit the Grand Canyon, take a gondola ride in Venice, swim with dolphins, meet a mountain gorilla or maybe something more active such as ski, surf or skydive? You can do one of these from the comfort of your chair!
Leon Ancliffe from Flix Films has kindly offered to come to our meeting and give a VR experience to everyone present.
Location: St John's Hospice, 60 Grove End Road, St Johns Wood, London NW8 9NH. The hospice is a short walk from St Johns Wood station (Jubilee Line). There is a drop off point in front of the hospice and parking is available nearby. The venue is fully accessible.
Canal boat trip – Sunday 23 June from 13:00-17:00 in Hemel Hempstead.
This is now a firm favourite and we hope as many of you as possible can join us this year. We travel along a beautiful stretch of the Grand Union Canal in a fully accessible canal boat.
The boat is fully accessible for wheelchairs and suitable for frail people. It is covered and has panoramic windows, so is suitable whatever the weather. There is plenty of space for wheelchairs. The trip is organised by Waterways Experiences.
People with MND, their families, friends and carers are welcome. Children are also welcome; they enjoy the trip and love to help with the locks. Homemade refreshments will be provided. There is a bit of a party atmosphere on board with plentiful food and drink.
There is no charge for the canal boat trip. Please reserve your place early to avoid disappointment by contacting Mo (details below). Let Mo know if you need any assistance with transport.
Time: Meet at 1.00pm for departure at 1.30pm. The trip will last for about 3 hours.
Location: Nash Mills Recreation Centre, Red Lion Lane, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9TE. The meeting point is by the canal in a large car park, so very easy access to the boat. Just look for the entrance. It is immediately on your right as you turn into Red Lion Lane.
