Welcome to the South Yorkshire Branch

The branch is run entirely by volunteers and aims to provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families, and carers.

Branch activities are changing at present but please check Branch news for activities taking place.

The Botanical Gardens meeting has been cancelled unfortunately, and there are no dates to restart our normal Open Meetings yet. However we can now confirm the details of our first virtual Open Meeting on Friday 5th June 2.00pm which is the rearranged Question and Answer  "Ask the Panel" meeting. Local professionals who work with the Care Centre at the Hallamshire have kindly given up their time to do this, and everyone is welcome to attend. It is a great opportunity to ask questions about things that may have been bothering you, or you perhaps forgot to ask the therapists at clinic.

Mel White will chair this meeting and he will need your email address to send you the invitation link to join. Contact Mel on symnda@yahoo.com  It will be lovely to see everyone. There is no need to contribute on the day if you don't want to, you can forward your question by email beforehand if you just feel like listening to general discussion.

In addition to this you can get up to date information, on Covid -19 and MND,  produced in conjunction with MND specialists please go to the Association Home page . This Video called "Ask the Experts" helps to answer many of the questions that people with MND have had on their minds. Professor Chris McDermott from the Hallamshire Care Centre is one of the experts invited to give the answers. Ask the experts 1,2&3 can be found here .The branch will also continue to support people affected by MND in a number of ways. Our Association visitors will stay in touch, we will continue to provide local information and the committee will administer Quality of Life grants as well as grants for Carers and Young people. Please contact us to find out more.
